We run intensive Lorry Driver training courses for the following categories. Free assessments are available on request.

C 1 – Medium goods lorry up to 7 1/2 tons
The medium goods vehicle licence is shown as category C1 on your driving licence and allows you to drive up to 7.5 ton gross weight. Many candidates for this category are planning to drive ambulances or horse boxes. The minimum age is 18 years old and unless you are only driving for social and domestic purposes, you will need to take the driver cpc part 2 & 4 tests.

C – LGV / HGV – Class 2 – Rigid lorry
The large goods vehicle licence is shown as category C on your driving licence and allows you to drive any rigid vehicle, it is often referred to as 18 ton. The minimum age is 18 if you are going to work with the license and you must complete an initial driver cpc theory and practical test to attain the licence. For candidates using the licence for social and domestic reasons, the minimum age is 21yrs and no driver cps is required.

C + E – Class 1 – Artic or Drawbar – Lorry with trailer
If you need to tow a trailer with a medium or large size vehicle, you need to pass the C1 / C licence and then do another course and test towing a trailer.
